Pet Safety 101
Pet owners all over the world constantly worry about the wellbeing of their pets. Whether you own a dog or a cat, you household animal is prone to all kinds of hazards in their day to day lives from fleas to food allergies to getting run over. It is the latter – your dog or cat getting run over by passing vehicles – that can make you worry the most. However, by putting pet containment systems around your house, you can ensure that your pet stays safe.
A traditional fence that circles your house might seem like a good idea to keep your pet nearby and out of harm’s way, but these fences are ugly, can block your view of the street and require a lot of extra work trying to maintain them. Underground electric dog fence on the other hand is hidden and is a much more effective method for keeping your dog safe.
With a dog fence, all you need to do is mark out the areas in which you would like to keep your dog, a wire is then buried around those perimeters which is connected up to a transmitter which sends out signals from the wire to your dog’s receiver collar. When your pet goes too close to the boundary, a reminder is sent to the collar to let your dog know where not to go!
For smaller pets and cats, a cat fence is the more appropriate method of keeping them contained. A similar system can be installed for your pets, but the intensity of the reminder can be altered for smaller animals. Keeping your pet from wondering off is ultimately the best way of keeping them safe.
